Cosmetic tattooing is the implantation of a pigment, derived from organic and/or inorganic compounds, into the dermis layer of the skin thereby ensuring the long lasting effect of the procedure. This procedure has been performed for a variety of makeup enhancements for hundreds of years. Cosmetic tattooing can offer subtle encouragement and enhances lip liner and lip colour, upper and lower eyeliners and eyebrows.
Eyebrows: Whether you are missing a full set or partial brow, permanent tattooing can be done to correct your problem. You will not have to pencil in your brows and worry about them disappearing from exercise or swimming.
The eyebrow shape and colour is determined by your original brow and face shape. If you have sparse and thin hair the permanent cosmetic can also be applied to make the brows fuller. It is recommended to always stay on the conservative when choosing a colour for darkness. It is best to tattoo lighter as for we can always go over it darker, but not the reverse.
Eyeliner: This procedure is to define the lash and to enhance your shape. The pigment is applied close to your lash line to ensure a natural line. The thickness of the line and colour choice would be determined based on your eye shape and age. Again, I strongly recommend naturals liner shades as opposed to other colours that you will tire of and not look very natural.
Lip Liner & Lip Shading: Perhaps you want a more definite lip line or due to the aging process your line is disappearing. Lip lining defines your lips and may also make the size appear fuller. Colours are chosen based on you skin tones.(e.g. if you are a redhead and wear brown or orange lipsticks we choose a liner colour to suit these shades.
FAQs
Does it hurt?
There is minimal discomfort as highly effective topical anesthetics are applied to numb the area.
How is it done?
Every customer receives their own sterilized needle to implant the desired colour into the dermis. All needles are then properly disposed.
Is a patch test required?
If you have an allergy to cosmetics it is recommended that a patch test be done and wait for 24 hours. If not a patch test can be done while choosing a colour for your treatment.
Is more than one appointment required?
In most cases a touch up appointment is needed 4-8 weeks after the original appointment. At this appointment we can perfect the line or go darker in colour if needed. In years to come (5-10) you may desire a re-enhancement.
How does it heal?
There will be some redness and slight swelling immediately following the appointment. Home care consists of applying polysporin for 7 days and it is very important to keep the area moist at all times while healing. For the eyeliner procedure you cannot wear cosmetics and contacts for the one week as we do not want you rubbing the eyes. For lip lining try not to do excessive rubbing.
What is in the pigments?
The pigments are composed of mineral, iron oxide base colorants. These colorants are all FDA approved.
